Did you know puberty lasts forever? On Hold is an experimental documentary short film contemplating around the themes of intergenerationality and socially constructed masculinity. The film is based on anonymous phone calls dialed for a helpline for boys and young men under 20-years of age. The film asks which are the attitudes, values and emotions we inherit from the generations before and pass on to the generations after us. On Hold visualizes every child’s need to be heard and claws space for empathy.

As Koi reconnects with his hometown in slow decay, he fears the impending possibility of losing both his father and his hearing. The film revolves around the history of deserters - a part of human history, which has hardly been illuminated. Performances and creative interventions explore the scopes and limits of the audiovisual entertainment machine.

Xiao Qiang Had a Daydream

In the temple the statues observe. Hypnotized by a Sutra machine that issues invitations to the Pure Land, Xiao Qiang, wandering among luminous walls, will live an experience that will lead him to make an important decision: to seek freedom.
